Insecure Kids and Kung Fu

Insecure kids can be helped to develop security and confidence through practicing kung fu. Why is that important?

Many kids who are insecure compare themselves to others and decide they’re woefully short on whatever criteria they use. They wind up thinking

“I’ll never be as smart as Kaylee.”

“I can’t understand what’s being discussed in class.”

“Everyone picks on me.”

“Why can’t I be like everybody else?”

Over time, these insecure kids become unable to interact with peers at school, on the playground, and anywhere else. Often, they’ll get overlooked in the classroom and when others are playing. They sit on the sidelines.

Insecure kids become loners.

Not able to participate in activities with other kids, they’re also unable to develop their skills. This leads to lower self-esteem and more insecurity.

This is where practicing kung fu like that taught at Blue Dragon School of Martial Arts becomes valuable. Any child has what it takes to learn kung fu where they’re not competing with others and not comparing themselves with other students.

Learning the techniques of kung fu helps insecure kids understand what they fear and how to overcome it. This helps kids feel more confidence in themselves and in what they can handle.

Kung fu can help them face situations that previously scared them to the point of being helpless. The courage this brings will build their personality both now and for the rest of their lives.

Some experts believe learning kung fu is one of the best ways insecure kids can learn self-discipline, respect for self, and confidence in their abilities. These are some of the key skills kids need to learn in order to be successful.

One of the key skills taught at Blue Dragon School of Martial Arts is developing strength of character that includes self-confidence. This allows insecure kids to become “bully proof” by projecting the attitude of “I’m not a target.”

The things that lead to insecure kids usually start off small. Then more incidents build up over time that lead kids to think of themselves as “not good enough” in one or more areas of life. This thinking generalizes until it affects all parts of insecure kids’ lives. Getting involved in kung fu at Blue Dragon School of Martial Arts can begin the process of helping insecure kids overcome these feelings and grow as confident people.
